Picasa LigthBox 2 Preview
Since many users requested it, I took some time and upgraded my Picasa LightBox plugin to work with the new Wordpress 2.5. It’s not done yet, but I guess I’m on the right track and the new plugin should be released very soon. In the mean time, check out the clip below to see what to expect.
As you can see, albums and pictures are not properly aligned; actually, the photos window is a total mess. A few users tested the plugin and they said it works fine, except for the messy look and a glitch with Fluency Admin interface plugin. Thanks Mark and Mario for reporting back.

Wow! This is exactly what I was looking for! I believe you’ve used simple img tags for the image links. This way users can use many of the alternatives to Lightbox, notably Shadowbox, by simply changing the “rel” attribute! Perfect

I think this is the best plugin to publish Picasa Web Albums pictures. It works nice, and solves the problem of hosting large number of pictures.
I’ve been using it for some months, and I’m really happy to see you’re working to port it to Wordpress 2.5. I’m waiting for the release to update my wordpress… as I can not figure it without Picasa LightBox.
I had to thank you for the work and time spent by maintaining this plugin. Well done!!

Just curious.. Does it require curl and allow_url_open?? I’m trouble having because of plugins requiring this! Can you send me a copy of the plugin’s latest version so that I can help you testing it too!?

I watched the U-Tube and this looks great! I ‘ve had so much trouble uploading pictures with WordPress and I can’t wait to try this plug-in. I have 2.5, though, so I’ll have to be patient! Do you have any idea when it will be ready and can you notify me?

STILL waiting for the plugin. Meanwhile, have a look at the Wordpress Media Flickr Plugin (http://factage.com/yu-ji/2008/03/31/wordpress-media-flickr-1_0_0/). Its got one of the coolest interfaces inside the Write Post page. Maybe you can take a look at the code and implement nice parts of it in yours!

I made the ‘mistake’ of upgrading to 2.5 without first checking plugin status. I have enjoyed your Picasa plugin and would really like to have it for 2.5, so keep me in the loop for it’s availability.
I’ll try the beta if you wouldn’t mind sending it or tell me if its available ?

When is this going to be released???? It has been ages since it was announced. I understand that the developer is coding it in his own time, but if he is going to announce this surely he would put an estimate date as to when it would be released or given out as beta.
Please keep us eager users in the loop and give us an estimated date?

When I try the new beta plugin in WP 2.6 I am able to see my albums, but when I select an album no pics appear in it for me to select. All I see in the popup, is a white area. Anyone else experiencing this?

I managed to identify the problem with the missing photos within my album. Another plugin, Login-box, was conflicting with Picasa Lightbox 2 and after deactivitating the Login-box plugin I was able to select and insert photos into my posts.

I’m running a Wordpress 2.7 on a test WP installation. After installation and activation of this plugin, I noticed a major glitch!
When adding multiple (more than one) photos, only the last one I added is added to the post and the rest go mysteriously missing.
Stable release of WP 2.7 is hardly 10 days away.. I think there’s not too much work to fix this. I’d be happy to help in testing this plugin on WP 2.7. Awaiting admin’s reply!

I’m using Version 2.6.3 and it’s not inserting the link into the artikel. Everything works fine up until I can choose the size of the image. I klick on 800 and the chosen picture opens in this resolution but it doesn’t insert the html-code into the artikel. Can somebody help me?
