De ce aveţi nevoie:

• un terminal Zapp, în cazul ăsta Z110
• un calculator (portabil sau nu) cu Windows Vista
• CD-ul de instalare pentru terminalul respectiv sau acest pachet sau acest fişier
• acest fisier, pe care îl puteţi lua şi de aici
• o conexiune la internet, alta decât cea prin Zapp pe care o configurăm

Pasul 1

• Asiguraţi-vă că aveţi o legătură la internet şi descărcaţi fişierele menţionate mai sus.
• Din pachetul
  usb-direct-cable-(prolific)-zapp-cd-installer.zip
  aveti nevoie numai de cele două fişiere din acest folder:
  Zapp_installer -> drivers -> prolific -> prolific-mobile -> 2K-XP
• Alternativ, puteţi descărca acest pachet, care conţine numai cele două fişiere necesare.
• Acest pachet conţine un singur fişier: mdmzapp.inf.
• Dezarhivaţi ambele pachete undeva pe Desktop sau în altă locaţie uşor accesibilă.

Pasul 2 – Instalarea driver-ului Prolific

• Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Classic View (stânga) -> System
  alternativ:
  Click dreapta pe Computer (pe Desktop) -> Properties
• Din stânga sus, sub Tasks, click pe Device Manager
  
• În Device Manager, aveţi grijă să selectaţi orice device din listă şi apoi click pe Action -> Add Legacy Hardware (dacă nu selectaţi un dispozitiv din listă, meniul Action nu conţine sub-meniul Add Legacy Hardware)
• Ar trebui să obţineţi această fereastră, în care daţi Next:
  
• Bifaţi Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced) şi apăsaţi Next
  
• Din lista de dispozitive alegeţi Ports (COM & LPT) şi apăsaţi Next
  
• Click pe Have Disk..., apoi Browse, mergeţi unde aţi dezarhivat primul pachet, alegeţi ser2pl.inf, daţi Open şi apoi OK
  
• Alegeţi Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port şi daţi Next
  
• Vista avertizează că nu a putut verifica provenienţa driver-ului. Alegeţi Install this software driver anyway
  
• Vista încheie procesul de instalare şi avertizează că pot exista probleme. Apăsaţi Finish
  
• În lista de dispozitive, sub Ports apare acum Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port
  
• Urmează partea cea mai importantă. Click dreapta pe Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port -> Properties şi alegeţi tab-ul Driver
  
• Observaţi că driver-ul este din 2000 şi nu este semnat digital. Click pe Update Driver
• Click pe Search automatically for updated driver software şi aşteptaţi
  
• Driver-ul va fi înlocuit cu o versiune mai nouă. Pe Windows Vista Home Premium se face update la o versiune din 2005 iar pe Vista Business la o versiune din 2007
  
• Apăsaţi Close

Pasul 3 – Instalarea modemului Zapp

• În Device Manager mergeţi la Action -> Add Legacy Hardware şi apăsaţi Next
• Bifaţi Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced) şi apăsaţi Next
• Din lista de dispozitive alegeţi Modems şi apăsaţi Next
  
• Bifaţi Don't detect the modem; I will select it from a list. şi apăsaţi Next
  
• Apăsaţi Have Disk..., apoi Browse şi mergeţi unde aţi dezarhivat mdmzapp.inf. Daţi click pe mdmzapp.inf şi apoi Open şi OK
• Alegeţi Zapp CDMA Handset (With USB 230k serial conv) şi daţi Next
  
• Bifaţi All ports şi apăsaţi Next
  
• Apăsaţi Finish
  
• După instalare modem-ul apare în lista de dispozitive în secţiunea Modems
  

Pasul 4 – Configurarea conexiunii

• Mergeţi la Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Classic View -> Network and Sharing Center
  
• În stânga daţi click pe Set up a connection
  
• Alegeţi Set up a dial-up connection şi apăsaţi Next
  
• La Dial-up phone number puneţi #777. La User name şi Password puteţi pune orice (eu am pus zapp / zapp). Bifaţi Remember this password şi Allow other people to use this connection. La numele conexiunii puneţi “Zapp” şi apăsaţi Connect.
  

Ar trebui să aveţi acum o conexiune funcţională. Happy browsing!

As you can see, albums and pictures are not properly aligned; actually, the photos window is a total mess. A few users tested the plugin and they said it works fine, except for the messy look and a glitch with Fluency Admin interface plugin. Thanks Mark and Mario for reporting back.

Picasa LightBox is a WordPress plugin that lets you easily add Picasa images to your WordPress posts and pages.

You can add Picasa images to your posts and pages without using any custom tags. Just click the Picasa Photos tab, browse your albums and select the picture you want to insert. Picasa LightBox does not download Picasa images to your server. Instead it displays them directly from Picasa. Picasa LightBox currently supports only public Picasa albums. Picasa LightBox inserts pure HTML code into your posts or pages so you can easily customize it to fit your needs.

Picasa LightBox doesn’t work with Wordpress 2.5! If you are using Wordpress 2.5 this plugin is not what you are looking for. Picasa LightBox has been tested with Wordpress up to version 2.3.3.

Totul a durat aproximativ 12 ore (de joi 17.03.2006 ora 15:24 până vineri 18.03.2006 ora 3:27) pe un laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro cu Celeron Mobile la 1,6MHz si 1024MB RAM, rulând Fedora Core 4 cu gcc 4.0.0 (20050519).

Deşi ordinea nu prea contează, am instalat aşa: Windows 2000 pe D: şi Windows XP pe C:. În meniul de boot îmi apăreau corect cele două sisteme de operare Windows, aşa că am trecut la instalarea sistemului Fedora. Nu voi intra în detalii despre instalare pentru că sunt destule tutoriale pe net. Am să detaliez în schimb un singur pas, destul de important: în momentul în care installer-ul m-a întrebat unde să scrie bootloader-ul, NU am ales MBR (Master Boot Record) cum fac de obicei ci “First Sector of Boot Partition”, în cazul meu /dev/hdc2. După ce instalarea s-a încheiat, am repornit sistemul. (Linux-ul nu este de găsit deocamdatã.)

Am boot-at din nou de pe primul cd de instalare Fedora tastând la prompt-ul de boot:

linux rescue [ENTER]

Şi după iniţializare, la promptul sistemului:

chroot /mnt/sysimage [ENTER]

Trebuia să transfer sectorul de boot de pe /dev/hdc2 într-un fişier în Windows şi cel mai simplu mi s-a părut să folosesc o dischetă:

dd if=/dev/hdc2 of=/mnt/floppy/grub.mbr bs=512 count=1 [ENTER]

Am părăsit shell-ul cu “exit” şi am pornit Windows XP. Am copiat de pe dischetă fişierul “grub.mbr” în C:\ (poate fi pus şi în alt folder, fără probleme), apoi am editat “boot.ini” (aflat tot în C:\). Acest fişier este de obicei “hidden” şi “read-only”, aşa că editarea lui necesită câţiva paşi suplimentari.

Iniţial, “boot.ini” arăta aşa:

După restart, Fedora Core 4 apare pe utlima linie a meniului de boot Windows XP şi porneşte fără probleme. Unele mici modificări pot fi necesare în “/boot/grub/grub.conf”, pentru fine-tunning.
